Dear Senior Parents,
What’s the most important gift you can give your child this year? A fun celebration of their senior year and a special night with classmates after missing out on many senior year activities and Whitman traditions.
Post Prom has been a huge hit at Whitman for many years, offering a safe alternative to drug and alcohol parties on prom night. Given the realities of the pandemic, we have planned a very different “Post Prom” from previous years – a Post Prom without a Prom! A PTSA sponsored event, the 2021 Post Prom will be held outdoors and will comply with all Maryland and Montgomery County Covid-19 regulations pertaining to masking and social distancing.
This year’s event, “Under the Big Top,” will be a circus themed night. It will be held on May 7, 2021 from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am at Calleva Farm and will include bonfires, music, carnival games and prizes, and a zipline! Roundtrip transportation will be provided on buses between Whitman and Calleva, and students will be required to take the buses to and from the event in order to attend.
We need your help to make the event a success. Post Prom is FREE for all seniors thanks to the generous support of parents and community partners who help fund this important event. We expect 95% of seniors to attend this event, in line with prior years.
Enclosed is information for your review, including a 2021 Post Prom fact sheet, FAQs, and instructions to make an individual or business donation, sign up to volunteer, or contribute a raffle prize. While contributions of any amount are welcome and appreciated, we are suggesting a donation of $150 to cover the cost of food, DJ, games, fabulous prizes, and transportation. So that we can properly plan this event, we would be most grateful if your donation could be made by March 31, 2021.
We are excited about our plans and will provide additional details about Post Prom during the senior parent meeting on Tuesday, February 16, at 6:30 pm.
Thank you for your support!
